Vada = water
Well the Docter family arrived today and seem to have brought the spring weather with them. It was cloudy early this morning but then the sun came out and it is quite warm out. Short sleeves and shorts weather.
We went for a walk around town this morning and when we got back to the lobby there was a couple sitting on the sofa looking just like I imagine we did that first day waiting for Zema to come and take us to the baby house for the first time. It was Kara and Quentin. We chatted until Zema arrived.
We had our usual afternoon visit with Anton today. Since it was nice out they let us spend our visit out side. Of course, as is custom here, he had on a sweater, a winter coat and a hat. He was very quite again today but Zema told us he had been woken up from his nap. He seemed a little unsure about being outside without the rest of the children from his group.
The big attraction was the stream of water running along by the wall that surrounds the baby house. He was very intent on throwing rocks in the water. We had to keep close tabs on him so that he didn’t step in the water lying around in some sections of the play area. Cutting grass, or weeds for that matter, doesn’t seem to be something they do over here. In some areas of the playground the grass/weeds were almost as tall as Anton and of course he had to wander through it every chance I got.
We played in the sandbox, on the slide, climbed the monkey bars, and rode on a merry go round. They also have a small pool that the kids must play in during the summer. It is currently empty of course but that did not stop our boy from climbing in it and running around.
Dogs wander around all over the place here. There were some dogs on the other side of the wall which apparently were fairly large because you could see the tip of the muzzle when they jumped on the wall. They started barking while we were outside and it caught our guy’s attention. We are not quite sure how to interpret his reaction. He went running over towards the wall saying, “woof, woof” and swinging his hand with his truck like he wanted to throw it at the dog. He didn’t appear to be afraid. So we’re not sure how he is going to react when he meets our two dogs. We showed him some pictures that were on the camera and he said, “It ( dog in Kazak)” when he saw our lab mix’s picture and punched at the photo. Then I showed him our German shepherd’s photo and he said, “moosuck” which means cat in Kazak.
Today while at the baby house we signed our first official paper. I believe from what Zema said it is the document in which we officially state that we are interested in adopting Anton.
Here are some more photos from yesterday and today:

Kara and Quentin stopped by after they got back from their second visit to the baby house today in which they actually were introduced to some children and selected a little girl to bond with. We chatted for a while and then had dinner together in the Hotel Restaurant.
Tomorrow we are evidently going in the morning. We may be meeting with the doctor to go over his medical background and I think Janetta has some more documents for us to sign.
That’s all from this side of the world for today.
Paka,
Lynda and Wayne
Lynda and Wayne, CONGRATULATIONS I am very excited and happy for you. Can't wait to hug and kiss Anton. My prayers are with you both. Love, Joann
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy your word of the day on each post!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell us what you are eating that you find around your hotel. We are worried that we will have to pack enough food for 4 weeks. We've read a lot of Kaz stories about "weird" foods they like to eat.
Blessings to you! Thanks for posting!
We have been following your adventures and can only imagine how emotional all this is. You seem so calm about everything. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteShared some of your experiences with my mom today. Hard to believe our lives are just going along and you two are a world away bonding with a precious little boy!
ReplyDeleteHey, is there an easy way to invite my mom to your blog? Her e-mail is vemason@verizon.net
Love and kisses to all!
Rebecca
