All our bags are packed and we're ready to go....

Well, less than 24 hours to go until take off! It still doesn't seem real yet and I probably won't believe it until we are actually in the air. I am impressed that we managed to get everything into two large and two small suitcases. The two large ones are at the limit and maybe 2-3lbs over by the hand scale we have. We'll take our chances and pay the overage fee if they are. Luckily we are not traveling by air in country or we would have to downsize. They are meeting us with a car in Almaty and driving us to Taraz. That will give us most of Thursday to get some rest, get cleaned up and situated somewhat before we visit the baby house on Friday if all goes as planned.

Of course we have the computer bag and a small briefcase as well that has our prized possessions...all our paperwork we have to take with us and we are also serving as a courier service for some papers from our IA agency.

I tried out the Skype today and it appears to work well for computer to land line so we will try and use that to stay in touch with folks on this side of the world. We have rented a phone through Silk Road for use in country. We'll let you know how it works. They are suppose to deliver it to us when we get to the airport in Almaty.

Thanks to everyone at the GRECC and the courthouse for making it possible for us to be gone for 4+ weeks from our respective jobs. It is appreciated more than you will ever know. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during our travels.

I guess that's all for now. I will try and post from Frankfurt if we can get internet access.

Paka,
Lynda
