New Year's Weekend on the Farm

We spent New Year's on the Eastern Shore at the family farm. Lukas had his 5 year old check up in the morning and then we headed down to the farm. Lukas was excited to find out they still had snow on the ground and that his cousins were there. It started out that they were all going to build a snowman but Lukas had other ideas. While the older kids worked on the snowman they had to dogde Lukas' snowballs.

Christmas with the Robeys

After spending time with the Mason Clan we headed to Grandma and Grandaddy Robey's home for our traditional Robey Christmas Dinner and presents. Due to the snow that was falling, MeeMaw decided to stay home. She was greatly missed. We chose to wait and open her gifts later in the week when we would go visit with her.

We started with our annual Lasagne dinner and dessert. Lukas was going to be spending the night so we got him into his pjs before opening gifts. He insisted on wearing his belt.

Cousin Jaimie and family gave him a full tool set including a power drill. Now maybe he will leave papa's tools alone.

Keeping with the Buzz theme from his birthday. A video game ray gun.

With all his running around he was getting a little warm. To add to his collection of Hess trucks, grandma and grandaddy got him the 2010 edition. Loved, loved, loved the jet plane.

Our little chef was given his own kitchen tools and Chef set. Of course he had to try it out. Gives a completely new meaning to the the title Naked Chef! Really, he did have clothes on under the apron.

Christmas continued....the day after

Every year we spend some time with my "other" family, the Masons. So the day after Christmas we headed to "Mom" Masons. There were 23 of us this year. They have attempted to streamline things by having the adults draw names for gifts so everyone only has one gift to open and assist santa with the stockings. The younger kids get gifts from everyone one. We all open stockings together and then open gifts one at a time starting with the youngest. We have added so many recently that we kept getting lost in whose turn it was once we got past the 5 youngest.

It's a long wait between Lukas and 22 others. Lukas was good about waiting and decided to take a nap while he waited. After all, it was his nap time.

Christmas Part 2...stockings

After an enjoyable breakfast with the Costins it was back to the house to open stockings and one last gift that Lukas had not gotten to yet.

Lukas had been asking for a bunny had like his classmate had. I guess Santa felt he was more of a monkey than a bunny. It was handcrafted in Nepal. Evidently, instead of wearing it on top of your head, the face goes in over your entire head.

Christmas Breakfast at the Costins 2010

When we arrived at the Costins we learned that our usual Chef, Uncle Butch, was a little under the weather. Cousin Kevin stepped in to cook the potatoes, sausage, bacon and pancakes. Breakfast was delicious as always.

Lukas decided he was going to pass some time by playing in the snow until breakfast was served.

We normally don't exchange gifts with the family until Dec. 26th, but Aunt Cheryl opted to give Lukas one of his presents a day early.

Christmas Morning 2010

Santa brought a Hess truck from the year Lukas was born and the year following.



Needless to say he loved all the lights and sounds.


The rest of Santa's gifts were left in a Santa sack.

While opening gifts it began to snow. We didn't get much, just a few flurries and a dusting, but enough to make it a brief White Christmas.















A remote control sports car from Uncle Steve and Cousins Ashley and Alex. He loved it.
















New snow boots from mom and dad, just in time for the snow. Have to try them on and check them out.
















Santa also brought some Tag books and a Tag reader.
















After opening gifts it was time to head to Aunt Chery and Uncle Butch's for our annual family Christmas breakfast. Stockings will have to wait until later. I am glad that our son likes to take his time to appreciate each gift after opening it before moving on to the next gift. He honestly is happy which each and every gift no matter what it is.
