First Day of Kindergarten

Well, it has finally arrived, the first day of kindergarten. Lukas has been asking for almost a year, "when can I ride on the big yellow bus?" Today is the day!

I woke up without any trouble at 6:10am. I had put his close out and he was dressed by 6:15am ready for the bus. He ate his breakfast and kept asking, "Is it time to go to the bus yet?" He was very excited when we said yes. He put on his backpack and we headed out the door. He kept wavying and saying hi to all the other children and parents as they joined in the walk down the hill to the bus stop. He ran most of the way.

Wow, look at that bus...

Getting on the bus

Bye mommy and daddy....

Soooo happy to be on the bus

First artwork from Kindergarten. He told me the big house was Gunnar's house (dog we are watching for a friend) and the smaller one is Gracie's house. Quite appropriate considering both dogs were in the doghouse when we got home. They had quite the party while we were all gone today.

Summary of the first day...it was a success. Everything that went to school came home from school with the exception of his information badge he is suppose to wear the next couple of weeks. Instead of pinning it on him we laminated it and put it on a lanyard. Our guess is that it is on the daycare bus somewhere. So we made a new one for tomorrow. When asked how his day was he said, "awesome."
