Trimming of the tree

After letting the tree rest and take a good soak overnight it was time to break out the decorations for inside. I hadn't used the indoor tree lights for 6 years and wasn't sure they would still work. First we got it up in the stand. Then we tested the lights. Yeah, they still work! The first strand goes around the trunk. Then came the lights for around the outer branches. Those lights come with several different modes of flashing. All was going well and then we couldn't get the second strand set on the right mode and the spare strand had a section that would not light. Ah, the traditional trauma of holiday lights. we finally got the lights working and on the tree, stood back to check it out and suddenly the end part of the strand around the trunk stop working for some reason! Ugh! We eventually resolved the problem and started to put the ornaments on with the assistance of a little elf named Lukas.

Putting on the lights.....

Lights on, tree in place....

Decorations on.....the final product

As you recall I mentioned some one making fun of me for buying a tree funnel. When it came time to put water in the stand guess who realized it wasn't so easy to fill the stand once the tree was in it and decorated. He doesn't think my funnel was such a sucker purchase after all!
