Birthday Bowling Party!

Since Lukas arrived home 5 months before his birthday we had a very small family gathering the first year. Then came the class friends parties. it was all new to Lukas so I managed to get away with having a family and family friends party at home again the second year. he now has a good comprehension of what birthday parties are all about. December is a tough time to get a group of kids together. I didn't think he would understand waiting until summer to celebrate so we had our first kids party. Lukas wanted to go bowling so we scheduled with the bowling alley and sent out invites. We ended up with 3 friends coming and then one got sick and couldn't make it. So it was a small group but it worked out well since they aren't the greatest at being patient for their turn at this age.

Lukas with his buddy A. It ends up that A was adopted from Russia. What are the odds that out of 30 kids in his after school care group he would find the one boy adopted from Russia to be his buddy. He also lives in the neighborhood.


Lukas, A and J from his class. She is in Lukas' class and has a December birthday too! He invited another girl from his class who's birthday is the same day but she was unable to come at the last minute.

J had never been bowling before. She had a very unique style. I have never seem a ball move that slow. One time it actually started back the other way and got stuck! Wayne tried to help her out.






They each got three dollars worth of tokens for the arcade which was a nice break from the bowling. Each of them had enough tickets to redeem for a prize.


Lukas had a surprise visit from Aunt Debbie and Uncle David. They were on their way to get a tree and stopped by to see him at his party and bring him his gift.



Time for cupcakes and candles. Lukas picked out the cupcakes for his party. Since we were having a small group I figured cupcakes were the better choice than a big cake. Not as much left over.
