So, what's the best way to beat the heat...get in the pool at 7am. He wanted to get in at 6:30! I made him eat first. I spent the first shift with him.
My Little Frog Man
It was very quiet and still on the water. At 7am it was actually enjoyable to drink a cup of coffee while watching Lukas swim. And you can't beat the view from the pool.

We decided to go with a "no flotation assistance" rule for Lukas this summer. He was doing well last summer after 3 months of lessons with minimal aide from his float pack so we wanted see how he woud do with out it. Lukas has been getting more and more confident with his swimming each outing to the pool. His style has a lot to be desired but at least I know he can keep him self afloat in an emergency. He decided on his own to go off the diving board alone and he swam all the way to the shallow end. His swimming style varies between the breast stroke and scuba diving.
After a few times off the diving board it was time to play with grandma's noodles and rest up some.

After a few hours daddy came out to relieve me and got in the pool with Lukas for a while.

Then it was time to come in and have some lunch, take a nap (yeah right, at least he rested), and get out of the sun and heat for a while. Then back to the pool in the late afternoon for some more water fun with daddy.

Lukas ate like a champ for dinner and was out cold shortly after 8pm. He woke up about 11 hours later and was ready to hit the pool again. I talked him into watching Toy Story 3 and eating breakfast first but it was back in the pool by 10am. Cousin Abbie joined us at the pool a little later for some splashing good times.

On Saturday Lukas created a new way of entering the pool while playing with grandma. He added a new twist to it on Sunday. Here he is making his entrance...
He eventually added a complete underwater flip to it. That's my little gymnast.

In spite of the heat we all had a great time visiting the family farm as always.
