Lukas' 1st Thanksgiving dinner with Grandma Cowell

Lukas is quite fond of his cousin Abby. He constantly wants to touch and hug on her. She's not always too sure about the hugging part.

Friday morning we made gingerbread cookies. Here is our little baker at work.

The finished product!

Lukas was overjoyed to go on several tractor rides with Grandpa Al. He also had fun riding his bike once it stopped raining. Friday and Saturday were pretty windy and cold but that didn't stop Lukas.

We headed home on Saturday afternoon and began decorating for Lukas' first Christmas. He loves lights! As a special treat I broke down this year and purchased an animated grapevine deer for the front yard. Lukas was a little too eager to help with the assembly. We managed to get the outside decorated, candles in the windows and the tree up in the family room. It didn't take long for Lukas to figure out how to turn the tree lights on and off. Disco Christmas tree lights anyone! I think he would be perfectly happy even if we don't put ornaments on it. We are also the proud owners of an animated Winnie the Pooh compliments of my mother. We have it in Lukas' room. He loves the motion sensor feature, however, he was not too thrilled with it at 11:30pm last night when he got out of bed and set it off. Winnie singing "deck the halls" was followed by a very loud scream and crying which then set Gracie, the german shepherd off. We now turn the sensor off after bedtime.
One of the most amusing moments to me this weekend happened while we were all watching tv. Wayne doesn't care for commerials during movies and really HATES it when they seem to occur every 5 minutes. That was the case while we were watching a movie on Cartoon Network. They broke for yet another commercial and Wayne said, "Oh, come on!" The next time a commercial break happened, you guessed it, Lukas yells out, "Oh, come on!" It was pretty funny to hear.
Hope everyone had a very Happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
