Celebrating 100 days of school

January brought a new celebration to our house.   Lukas celebrated his first 100 days of school. They spent all week doing things related to the number 100.  He was most proud of his crown.

School Open House

Today was orientation and open house at Lukas' school. We received an email saying they didn't have power and it was canceled. Two hours later we got another alert saying it was back on as scheduled. Since Lukas had just been there late last week he felt right at home. We walked into the cafeteria for orientation and he spotted the principal, Ms. Reed, talking to the group. He immediately starts wavying at her excitedly and she was kind enough to wave back.

We didn't get to see the entire school last week because they were waxing the floors so we took the tour today. More exploring for Lukas as we toured the music rooms, art room, computer labs and the gym. When we got to the library he had to show daddy everything he saw last week on his visit.

After the tour it was time for the open house and we let Lukas direct us to his classroom.

Michelangelo has returned to his tank after his summer vacation...

We finally got to meet the other two children from our neighborhood who are in Lukas' class. To cute little girls. And now we know where the live in the neighborhood.
