Making Christmas Cookies with Mommy

Every year I get together with some of Wayne's co-worker for a cookie exchange. I picked a cookie I felt Lukas could help me with because I knew he would want to help. They were Fudgy Candy Cane Sugar Cookies.

Baking with Mama and Buzz Lightyear

I thought Lukas would enjoy baking some Halloween funfetti cupcakes so we picked some up while at the store on Friday. He personally put the cake mix and frosting away when we were putting the groceries away. At 7:45am this morning he came down and asked if we could make the cupcakes. So, right after making my coffee, he got the items out of the pantry and we made cupcakes and donuts.

While we were waiting for them to bake Lukas decided to put on his Buzz Lightyear costume. I'm not sure what he liked more, playing in his costume or watching a video of himself afterwards.

Gives whole new meaning to Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

We are having Mother's Day dinner at Wayne's sister's house. Our job is to bring dessert. So I decided to make Molten Chocolate Lava cake and Lemon Meringue Pie. Of course Lukas had to help. Some how the Lava cake managed to explode on Lukas...

or are we finger painting?

I believe it is time for a bath and shampoo. He was very good about not touching anything on the way upstairs.

All cleaned up and time to make the pie

While mommy was putting the finishing touches up on the pie someone decided to sneak a taste of the Lava cake.

What are you holding behind your back...chocolate fingers. So much for the clean shirt.

He enjoyed cleaning extra meringue out of the bowl too. He had his hands covered in meringue so it was off to the sink. He likes to wash dishes so I got clean up duty.

While we were busy inside Wayne was tending to things outside. This is how Mikaela helps out.

A few weeks ago Wayne decided to recycle the old mailbox post and dress up the area where we have our clematis in the back. It turned out very nice and bloomed beautifully for Mother's Day.
