Wayne and I debated back and forth on Thursday as to what to do regarding the storm predicted to hit Maryland starting Friday. We were scheduled to fly out of Sarasota at noon on Saturday. Obviously that was most likely not happening. My parents were headed home by car at the same time on Saturday. Our options, fly home early or wait it out in Florida and possible stay with my godson who lives there. He's a relief pitcher for the Shorebirds (farm team for the Orioles). The timing of the storm kept shifting. On Friday morning we decided to take the noon flight out and hope the storm held off so we could land at BWI. I think we were one of the last flights to land in Baltimore that day. One of the best decisions we ever made.
It was a lite snow at that point and the road conditions were much better than when we left for Florida. They had a second snow come through while we were gone. Made a quick stop at the store for milk and a few other items and headed home to prepare for the storm. And what a snowfall it was! Because of our location on the court the wind had knocked down the snow from the garage roof so Wayne had to shovel about 3-4 ft away from the garage door area before we could even touch the 12-16 inches in the driveway. It was only around 8am on Saturday morning. It continued to snow pretty much all day on Saturday. We went out a few times to shovel. By the time it was over we had 24 1/2 inches of snow or more.

THE CALM AFTER THE STORM AND CLEANUP
A beautiful sunny day on Sunday

Due to cabin fever we headed out to play and also took a walk through the meandering paths people had made to the top of the street to see if the main road was cleared yet. Thankfully it was, sort of, at least passable if we could get out. They didn't plow our street until the second half of the Superbowl. They used a plow and a front end loader.
Play time...the trails made with shovels and snow blowers through the street made nice sled paths since we live on a hill

I like this one in black and white

Playing with the neighborhood kids

That looks like Minnesota! I think you got our storms. We just finished digging out.
