4 weeks of Saturday classes

We spent 4 Saturdays in September at Diakon with 4 other couples learning the ins and outs of adoption. We discussed resources available, regulations of adoption, current state of affairs of local and international adoption, parenting skills, expectations of adopted children and possible behaivoral issues, etc. We also learned at this point that due to the US applying for Hague Accreditation in 2008 and the state of affairs in Guatemala that we should look at other options. It turns out this was wise advise since the program shut down for US adoptions in early 2008.
